The highly anticipated 2026 Durbanville Sauvignon Blanc — the region’s signature collaborative vintage — has officially been signed off, with its first public unveiling set to take place at the Durbanville Wine Valley’s Sauvignon Soirée on Friday, 8 May.

And this year, it’s more than just a release. It marks five years of one of South Africa’s most exciting wine collaborations — a project that has not only refined its craft over time but firmly positioned Durbanville as the home of the country’s “Super Sauvignon Blanc”.

Bringing together 12 of the region’s leading wine estates, the initiative continues to showcase the power of collaboration, cool-climate terroir, and world-class winemaking talent — all in a single, highly anticipated bottle.

The Durbanville Sauvignon Blanc project was born from a shared ambition: to create a benchmark wine that reflects the very best of the valley. By combining premium fruit from across the region with the expertise of its most respected winemakers, the collaboration has, over five years, achieved remarkable consistency and international acclaim.

The 2026 vintage continues this legacy.

This year’s blend was entrusted to Diemersdal, with acclaimed winemaker Juandré Bruwer leading the process, alongside a panel chaired by Charles Hopkins of De Grendel. The result is a wine that captures not only the unique character of Durbanville’s soils and climate, but also the collective spirit of its winemaking community.

Timed to coincide with International Sauvignon Blanc Day on 1 May, the release underscores Durbanville’s growing reputation on the global stage.
