BBC Lifestyle’s Listing Cape Town Season 2 offers viewers a glimpse into the prestigious Millionaire’s Mile
To showcase the region’s most luxurious lifestyles, BBC Lifestyle has announced the season two premiere of its hit property-themed reality TV show – Listing Cape Town. The latest season will air from Wednesday 3rd April at 20:00 only on DStv channel 174 and promises to captivate audiences with a view of opulent homes across the region including the Cape Winelands and Bishopscourt area, as well as a much-anticipated glimpse into Cape Town’s exquisite Millionaire’s Mile properties.
Cape Town’s luxury residential market has distinguished itself in the global real estate industry with an annual growth of 12.3%*, outpacing global trends and drawing a wave of local and international interest.
Listing Cape Town producers Nico Nel and Trevor Kaplan say this eagerly anticipated season ups the stakes significantly with ten new episodes showcasing jaw-dropping properties valued up to an astonishing R280 million.
“This season shines spotlight on the Mother City’s Millionaire’s Mile, a stretch of road between Clifton Second Beach and Camps Bay renowned for its sought-after mega-flats representing the pinnacle of luxury and exclusivity,” they add.
In addition to featuring manicured stud farms in and around the Cape Winelands and breath taking beach bungalows, season two also introduces some fresh faces to the team of dynamic and professional property agents featured through the series.
“We’ll also take viewers on the exhilarating rollercoaster ride the property agents must endure as they navigate the competitive Western Cape property market to close deals running into the hundreds of millions,” adds Nel and Kaplan. “Whether it’s the prestigious Atlantic Seaboard locations or the inland properties in and around Franschhoek, these individuals will require unwavering perseverance to meet the incredibly elevated expectations of high-rolling and influential celebrities, property moguls, and local sports stars featured this season.”

The second season of Listing Cape Town will pay homage to the architectural legacy of Herbert Baker, featuring several of his iconic homes. These historical gems are nestled among an array of properties, including a R150 million Franschhoek wine farm currently on the market. The season also highlights Bishopscourt, a wealthy location attracting numerous foreign and local buyers, especially those looking to relocate from Johannesburg and Durban.
Viewers can expect a rich variety of ocean-view apartments, city-style living, suburban homes, and Cape Wineland’s properties. Among the eye-catching properties is a listing on one of Africa’s most valuable streets, Nettleton Road, known for its ultra-luxurious properties and breath-taking views.

Jonathan Tannous and Kim Tresfon (Pam Golding Property Group)
Born in Johannesburg and now living in Cape Town, Jonathan Tannous has been in real estate for eight years and Kim, born and raised in Cape Town are part of the Pam Golding Property Group and specialise in the Bishopscourt, Kenilworth Upper and Claremont Upper areas of Cape Town.

Jodi Smith was born in Johannesburg and grew up in Cape Town, having lived in Sea Point, Camps Bay and Bantry Bay on the Atlantic Seaboard. She completed a BA degree in Creative Brand Communications and went on to work in the film industry as a chaperone to the stars and A-List celebrities on Hollywood productions being filmed in South Africa. Jodi’s joint listings: I share on all my listings. The priority is to sell each property at the highest price, in the shortest amount of time, whether on my own or with other agencies. I expect the same from those who have the listings and I bring a buyer, which is normally the case.

Renée Lister-James, born in Port Elizabeth and raised in Durban, began her career in Public Relations, Communication and Experiential Marketing where she ran her own incredibly successful PR agency for 15 years, handling the publicity and production for some of the biggest concerts (from Michael Jackson to Def Leppard and more). Renée wanted to offer her husband and two sons a more holistic life and so moved from Durban to Cape Town, where they settled in to Franschhoek. Her venture in the property industry was so successful that the bug soon bit and she joined Chas Everitt International Property Group full-time, boasting a record-breaking 3 year journey with the estate agency. Renée’s most expensive sale: I’ve just sold a farm marketed at 95m in Franschhoek. It was an incredible journey and the new owner is delighted with his purchase.
Renée’s most unique feature seen this season: Certainly Selwin Chatz’s property. Unique, stylish and out of this world. His collection of cars is truly special and the car garage as a feature on his property was incredible. The home was just as impressive with attention to detail, beautiful interiors and stunning architecture. Also the “war room” on the beautiful 1 hectare farm in franschhoek. The wine cellar in the war room was amazing.
Renée’s average client: My average client is a local looking to upgrade and make a lifestyle change, closer to schools and more convenient but also an ever growing demand from international buyers for lock up and goes. These international buyers will then come down a couple of times during the year to enjoy the Country.
Renée’s biggest challenge: I think dealing with people generally. Always having to be on top of your game and “match” a client with that perfect property. It’s the most rewarding aspect of my job when a client falls in love with a home!

- What is the most expensive listing on season 2?
Season 2 features a R150m wine farm in Franschhoek as well as a handful of other properties within the same price range.
- What are the new areas featured in season 2?
This season has a strong focus on the opulent Bishopscourt and Kirstenbosch area.
- How did filming season 2 differ from season 1?
Not a lot has changed from S1 with regards to filming, we basically filmed during the same time of the year, although S2 was marked with a lot of bad weather, especially at the beginning of the season with the floods in Cape Town towards the end of September.
- What learning did you take from season 1?
It was quite evident was that viewers wanted to see more and more over the top, luxury properties in Listing Cape Town, which we believe our agents most certainly delivered on.
- What should viewers expect this season?
Viewers can expect to see a variety of luxurious and stylish properties, ranging from upmarket Camps Bay villas, stately Bishopscourt mansions, all the way to expansive wine farm-styled manor homes, each with a hefty price tag.
- Did you find anything unique this season that you have never seen in a home before?
A standout property that features in s2 is a R75m luxury oceanfront villa in Bantry Bay. A true masterpiece of architectural innovation that has been built around a massive mountain boulder that protrudes into most of the rooms of this four story 1960s psychedelic inspired home.
