7 days to go until we rally behind Reach For a Dream and support their fundraising initiative Slipper Day 2016, happening on the 5th of August 2016. To support this initiative all you have to do is buy your slipper day slipper at your nearest Pick n Pay and wimpy stores and don your funky slippers to work/school to show your support.

For those who don’t know what reach for a dream and slipper day is, here is a short breakdown:
For 25 years the Reach For A Dream Foundation inspired by the Make a wish foundation has brought hope, joy, and healing to countless South African children. These children between the ages of 3 and 18 years have used their dreams to fight life-threatening illnesses such as cancer and leukemia, cystic fibrosis, muscular dystrophy, renal failure and various blood disorders.

Reach For A Dream seeks to alleviate the strain that a life-threatening illness places on these children and their families by providing the children with the opportunity to realise their dream. Reach For A Dream enriches children’s lives by making dreams come true and as a result, distracting them from the needles, medication and hospital environment. These young children are under extreme pressure to deal with these medical issues and are in desperate need of our encouragement. In addition, Reach For A Dream offers the child a magical moment to regain their childhood that is being lost to an illness.

Slipper Day
Slipper Day is a fun initiative that creates awareness for the Foundation, whilst raising funds to make more dreams a reality for children fighting life-threatening illnesses. In order to participate, all you need to do is buy an- R10 sticker and wear your slippers to work, school, varsity, on errands or just about anywhere that you are going to on that day to show your support for Reach For A Dream. In addition to having a very comfy day, you will also notice that you smile a lot more on this unique day. If you are unable to wear your slippers, then wear your sticker with pride as you spot other supporters in their slippers.

Competition

So we are giving away 3 date night experience to Silverstar Casino each valued at R250.

The awesome date night includes two 2D/3D movie tickets and two mouth-watering meals at either Vigour & Verve, Publicity, Billy G, Black Cherry, Calisto’s or Spur. Included in the booklet is also two selected drinks at Silverstar’s casino bar, a parking voucher, two R25 FreePlay vouchers and for those who want added excitement, two ten-pin bowling games.

All you have to do is share with us a picture of you holding your slipper day sticker that is bought at your nearest pick n pay and Wimpy and tag the partner you will be bringing to the experience.
