Red Bull BC One 2024 Top 20 Finalists Revealed for Johannesburg National Finals
The top 20 finalists for the Red Bull BC One 2024 Cypher South Africa have been announced, raising the stakes for an exciting finale on March 23 at TMF Studios in Johannesburg, Braamfontein. The rhythmic heartbeat of Mzansi’s breaking scene intensifies as the world awaits South Africa’s champions. This is set to be a celebration of raw talent, creativity, and the expression of breaking culture rather than just a competition.
Red Bull BC One, in collaboration with Slaying Goliath, presents illustrations of the top 20 finalists. Slaying Goliath has commissioned artwork to celebrate Red Bull BC One, recognizing the significant role that art and graffiti have played in the breaking scene.
The winners and recipients of wild cards from the regional cyphers held throughout South Africa between January 27 and February 10 make up the top 20 finalists. With their amazing power moves, footwork, and stunts, these b-boys and b-girls have proved to the best in the game. The winning b-boy and b-girl will go ahead and represent South African at the world finals on 07 December in Rio de Janeiro.

Notable figures from the breaking world, including international all-star Phil Wizard, Vouks, and b-boy Benny, are on the 2024 judging panel, these are legends who have inspired generations of breakers worldwide. With such a high calibre of talent on display, it surely will be challenging for them to select the best to represent the Southern tip of Africa at the world finals.
“The talent this year is unparalleled, and I can’t wait to see who will emerge as the true winners,” Vouks says, expressing his excitement. “It shows how South Africa’s breaking culture is growing and thriving.”
Hosted by Elly the Entertainer, Rouge, and Melrock, the national finals will not only feature a fierce competition but also special performances by well-known South African musicians A-Reece, Maglera Doe Boy, and Priddy Ugly. Their performances will intensify an evening that is already thrilling.
