Sifiye and Nomfundo Yekani Collaborate On New Single “Ngyacela” Featuring Robot Boii, Flash Cortez and Musiholiq
Rising star Sifiye teams up with acclaimed artist Nomfundo Yekani on his powerful new single, Ngyacela, released today across all major streaming platforms. The track also features standout contributions from Robot Boii, Flash Cortez and Musiholiq, bringing together a dynamic mix of voices shaping the current South African sound.
Ngyacela, meaning “I ask” or “I plead”, is an emotionally resonant offering that blends Afro Pop melodies with the textured edge of Trap. Anchored by the vocal chemistry between Sifiye and Nomfundo Yekani, the song explores themes of vulnerability, love and longing through layered storytelling and rich musicality.
“This song was really special to create because working with Nomfundo Yekani and the rest of the artists brought such different energies and perspectives into the studio. It reminded me how powerful collaboration is, and how music can come alive in ways you don’t expect when everyone brings their truth to the process,” says Sifiye.
Adding her voice and presence to the project, Nomfundo Yekani (born Nomfundo Nkutha) brings both depth and momentum, fresh off her recent work on a major release with Moozlie. Widely recognised as the “Queen of SA Hip-Hop,” Yekani hails from Thokoza in Ekurhuleni and has built a multifaceted career as a rapper, songwriter and television presenter.
Before fully stepping into music, she established herself on screen, working on shows such as Planet TV and SABC 1’s Soccer 411, and gaining national attention as a top finalist in the MTV Base VJ Search. While her love for hip-hop started early, it was during the 2020 lockdown that she fully committed to her artistry, marking the beginning of a rapidly rising career.
“Working on Ngyacela was such a beautiful experience because the song is so honest and emotionally driven. Collaborating with Sifiye and the team felt natural, and I think people are really going to connect with the sincerity in the music,” says Nomfundo Yekani.
Hailing from Katlehong, 21-year-old Sifiye is quickly establishing himself as one of the most promising new voices in South African music. What began as a quiet passion has evolved into a defining force in his life, with music serving as both a personal outlet and a powerful means of connection.
“This track is really about connection and feeling, and working with Nomfundo and the team just took it to another level. Everyone brought something real into the song, and I think people are going to feel that when they hear it.”
