Cape Town Print Fair 2026: A New Chapter for South Africa’s Print Culture
Cape Town’s creative landscape continues to evolve — and this March, a new cultural moment arrives on the calendar.
Boniswa Ubuhle Bendalo proudly introduces the Cape Town Print Fair, a three-day celebration of printmaking, illustration, zines, and independent publishing, taking place from 27–29 March 2026. Bringing together 50 independent artists, the fair is designed as an accessible, community-centred platform where the public can discover, collect, and connect directly with the makers shaping South Africa’s contemporary print culture.
As the Mother City further defines its identity as the creative capital of Africa, the Cape Town Print Fair offers a fresh, inclusive approach to art engagement — one that prioritises affordability, collaboration, and artist empowerment. Unlike large commercial art fairs driven by exclusivity, this event is built from the ground up by artists and community members, ensuring that creativity — not corporate prestige — remains at the heart of the experience.
“Printmaking is one of the most democratic art forms,” says Breeze Yoko, Artistic and Executive Director of the fair. “It allows artists to reach new audiences and gives the public a chance to own meaningful, original art. Cape Town deserves a dedicated platform for this — one that uplifts independent artists and strengthens our creative economy.”
