Emirates Launches a Third Daily Flight to Cape Town — Making Travel Between South Africa and Dubai Easier Than Ever

Cape Town is hotter than ever — and not just because of its beaches. As the city’s global popularity soars, Emirates is stepping in with big energy, announcing a third daily flight between Dubai and Cape Town starting 1 July 2026.

This upgrade brings Emirates’ South Africa–Dubai schedule to 56 direct flights every single week. Translation: more choice, less stress, and a lot more convenience for travellers.

More Seats, More Convenience

Cape Town continues to hold its crown as one of Africa’s top destinations — famous for its natural beauty, world-class wine estates, great food scene, and vibrant culture. And now, with Emirates adding over 600 extra seats per day on the new Boeing 777 service, getting to the Mother City has never been easier for travellers from the Middle East, Europe, and Asia.

For South Africans, this means smoother connections to favourite global destinations like Thailand, Indonesia, France, Switzerland, the Philippines, and China — all thanks to better connection times through Dubai.

A Better Onboard Experience

Emirates is also sending its upgraded Boeing 777 to South Africa, complete with the wildly popular Premium Economy cabin. Expect wider seats, more legroom, elevated dining, and that signature Emirates comfort. It’s premium, it’s plush, and it’s perfect for travellers who want something special without the full business-class price tag.

What This Means for Travellers

With the new flight, you get:

  • More flight times to choose from
  • Better same-day global connections
  • A convenient overnight departure from Cape Town
  • More seats during peak travel seasons (goodbye, fully booked flights!)

Dubai: An Easy and Exciting Stop

Dubai is now even more accessible — whether you’re planning a quick escape or using it as a glamorous stopover on your way to somewhere else. From luxury shopping to cultural gems, the city offers it all.

Entry Requirements for South Africans Visiting Dubai

If you’re travelling from South Africa, you’ll need:

  • pre-arranged UAE tourist visa (easy to apply for via Emirates)
  • passport valid for at least 6 months
  • return or onward ticket

Since travel rules can change, always double-check the latest info before your trip.

A New Chapter for South African Travel

As Emirates celebrates 30 years in South Africa, this new flight is a clear sign of the airline’s dedication to giving travellers more options, better comfort, and smoother global connections.

And the exciting part?
