La Tarte: South Africa’s New French Pastry Star

Self-taught chef Jared Melamed is taking South Africa by storm with his meticulously crafted, luxury French patisserie, La Tarte. Launched just seven months ago, his creations have already captivated both locals and discerning palates, garnering acclaim from the French community and top chefs in Johannesburg.

Operating from a ghost kitchen, Jared and his team meticulously craft a range of pastries, from classic Paris Brests to delicate Tartelettes au Choux Noisette. Each dessert undergoes a rigorous 20-30 day testing process, ensuring perfection in every bite.
