One of the largest shopping destinations in South Africa, Cresta Shopping Centre, in partnership with sponsors, Huawei, Gilbert and African Bank  officially opened its first smart Rugby Fan Zone on Saturday, 21st September in the

Food and Entertainment Court for shoppers to enjoy the Rugby World Cup games on the big screen.

The Fan Park includes live screenings of key games on the big screen, as well as smart interactive activities, innovative competitions, live performances and guest appearances – promising a unique, joyful viewing experience for shoppers to enjoy with their friends and families.

“Large tournaments such as the Rugby World Cup serve as an opportunity for us as South Africans to connect and share in a common experience as a nation and as a Centre we want to offer our community a way to enjoy the games and support our boys in green together, while creating fun for all ages. The Fan Zone provides  convenient and innovative entertainment including great prizes and surprises,” says Virginia Bester,  General Manager of Cresta Shopping Centre.  “This year, the 9th Rugby World Cup promises to be one of the most intense competitive tournaments we have seen on the 2019 sporting calendar and for this reason, we would like to encourage shoppers in our community to come and experience the excitement of the games at our Fan Zone in our Food and Entertainment Court,”  Bester added.

Entrance to the World of Rugby Cup Fan Zone is free for all and shoppers can expect great deals from the multiple restaurants in the centre as well as rugby themed activities, pre-and-post game entertainment and on the spot competitions throughout the tournament. So while the winning teams celebrate in Japan, visitors could also win fantastic, instant prizes such as digital devices, rugby gear and so much more from sponsors Huawei, African Bank and Gilbert. Families can be sure that the kids will be entertained by the games, competitions, activities and  surprise visits from the CrestAquarium ‘voice of the ocean’, Crestal.
