EVENT REVIEW: Montecasino launches world first in entertainment

So, last week we donned our finest attire and headed to Montecasino, for the launch of their latest action promotion, Cars and Cash. Let me start by saying – when Montecasino invites you to an event, you do not decline it because you know every event is an experience. And boy did they live up to that expectation, last night was a truly memorable one.

South Africa has the distinction of achieving a world first in gaming – a Cash & Cars Progressive Roulette(https://www.tsogosun.com/montecasino/gaming/casino-promotions/cash-and-cars), which has launched at Montecasino (https://www.tsogosun.com/montecasino) . The game offers a progressive bet of only R20, and the opportunity to win both a spunky Mini Cooper Hatchback worth over R320,000 and a shared cash pool of R80 000 simultaneously – once every few weeks.

We were welcomed by delicious cocktails at the casino entrance. They had alcoholic and non-alcoholic options, and I am sure you can figure which one we went for. We then made our way into 3Sixty° Liquid Lounge, where the main event was taking place. It was our first time at the lounge and it definitely won’t be the last. If you ever do visit the 3Sixty° Liquid Lounge, make sure to take some time and pop by their wine cellar and cigar lounge. They have some of the finest you can find out there.

Okay, now back to the experience. We were put into teams and no information was shared on why that was done. But we were there for an experience, not to ask questions. I was placed in the green team and my colleague in the pink team. We were then ushered into the venue and waited for the show to start. We were treated to some delicious cocktails and scrumptious canapés (its Monte darling, not Hamanskraal) with beautiful music in the background setting the mood. This was a welcomed change from other events I’ve attended, where there’s that awkward moment while everyone is waiting for the show to start.

Finally, the show kicked off with a speech by the tables manager introducing the new promotion. I am not a big fan of speeches; my sentiment is always “save that for the press release”. But she kept it brief and told us what we were all there for. Afterwards, we were escorted to the casino floor to take part in the new Cars and Cash promotion. The pink team took the first turn and we followed after. The best part about the experience? All the guests got to keep their winnings, it’s something that has never been done before. Unfortunately, some people can’t handle losing but that’s a story for another day.

After an adrenaline-fueled game, we went back to 3Sixty° Liquid Lounge for the announcement of the winners and prize-giving. Congrats to the top three winners, who walked away with a share of the R10 000 cash prize. I am sure you have figured by now that we didn’t win, but the Montecasino team made sure we didn’t walk away empty handed. All the guests received a bottle of champagne darling (In Bonang Matheba’s voice). Honestly, I always say champagne is always better than money, but again that’s me writing in a bitter tone. Thank you to the wonderful Montecasino team. Shout out to Lisa the PR manager at MonteCasino and Strat PR for being such lovely hosts!
