MortgageMarket launches ZeroCapture, South Africa’s  first AI model for mortgage origination

ZeroCapture is a game-changing AI platform that cuts home loan application data capture from around 40 minutes to just 2 minutes.

MortgageMarket, a leading FinTech and South Africa’s largest online marketplace for home loans, today announced a landmark industry development becoming the first company to launch an AI model to solve the administrative task of data capturing of home loan applications by customers, bond originators and bankers.

This milestone fundamentally changes one of the most time-consuming parts of the home loan application process. Instead of manually capturing the information required for an application, customers and mortgage originators can simply upload the relevant supporting documents. ZeroCapture extracts the required information and automatically populates the entire home loan application within seconds, cutting data capture from around 40 minutes to just two minutes.

The launch comes as AI moves rapidly from experimentation to practical application across financial services. PwC’s 2026 analysis of the banking sector found that 58% of banking leaders expect GenAI and agentic AI to have the greatest transformative impact on their industry over the next three years, yet only 10% describe their organisation’s current technology as leading-edge in AI integration.

ZeroCapture puts that shift into practice, applying AI to a real-world administrative challenge in the home loan process.

The launch follows another significant milestone for MortgageMarket. The company recently became the first mortgage originator in 25 years to secure direct contracts with all of South Africa’s major banks.
