Durbanville Hills Toasts to World-Class Recognition with an Exclusive Culinary Experience
Durbanville Hills is raising a glass to international acclaim. The estate’s Tangram White Blend 2023 has achieved a remarkable 96-point score from Decanter, one of the world’s most prestigious wine authorities. This accolade places the wine among the top six Sauvignon Blancs globally at the 2025 Decanter World Wine Awards, cementing the estate’s reputation for excellence.
To mark the occasion, The Tangram Restaurant at Durbanville Hills is hosting an intimate and immersive seven-course dinner on 14 August 2025 (with the 13 August experience already sold out). Aptly titled 7 | Tastes of Tangram, this exclusive evening will pair the estate’s flagship Tangram wines—the celebrated Sauvignon Blanc-led white blend and the Bordeaux-style Red Blend 2022, both Decanter-rated above 90 points—with an elevated culinary journey curated by the estate’s chefs. Each sip and bite will be guided by the expertise of cellarmaster Pieter-Niel Rossouw, who has led Durbanville Hills since 2023.
Inspired by the ancient Chinese tangram puzzle, the experience is designed to celebrate how individual elements—flavours, textures, wine, and setting—unite to create something greater than the sum of its parts. Each course represents a “tan,” a piece of the puzzle, inviting guests to indulge in a multi-sensory narrative of taste, place, and craft.
