REVIEW – NEW KID ON THE BLOCK CASTLE DOUBLE MALT

Recently I received a lovely package from Castle Lager and with the weather beginning to warm up again, there was no better time to try the new Castle Double Malt. Having launched in early August 2021, the new kid on the block is a testament to the Castle brand’s commitment to being proudly local, by combining two selected South African malts from Caledon and Alrode to bring you a delicious tasting lager.

The combination of the two special malts from the Western Cape of South Africa and the Castle brew master’s expertise is perfectly balanced in the beer that has a full body, creamy foam, and rich golden colour.

Though I am not a big beer drinker I am willing to try something at least once and I was not disappointed. From the smell to the crisp taste in flavour, the Castle Double Malt lager is an alcoholic beverage that I am adding to my summer drinks list! I would recommend this to the avid beer drinker as well as those willing to try something different. Trust me when I say this, it’s amazing, the taste is unmatched and unique. The perfect complement for any steak meal.

Besides its premium taste, the Castle Double Malt lager also looks good. The beer comes in a sleek 410 ml pearl, green, and gold can or the 340 ml green bottle containing 4.8% ABV.

It is currently available in all major retail outlets and online on Takealot, and the Bottles app for R79.99 for a six-pack.
