REVIEW: Defy’s Inox coffee maker – Perfect winter warmer

By Gift Khosa

“As soon as coffee is in your stomach, there is a general commotion. Ideas begin to move… similes arise, the paper is covered. Coffee is your ally and writing ceases to be a struggle.” – Honore de Balzac. Wouldn’t have said it better myself, typically my day starts and sometimes ends with a good cup of coffee, call it addiction or whatever you want.

I always say that I am defined by the number of cup of coffee’s I have on a particular day, especially if it involves a day filled with writing, strategizing- coffee is the help that I need.

Before I bore you with my relationship with coffee, let me just get straight to the point on what the topic is about. I rarely get the chance to go make coffee runs and if I do, I am not a big fan of waking up in the morning just to grab a cup of coffee, tend to sometimes just make it sometimes for myself even though it doesn’t live up to my standards and I have been procrastinating buying a coffee machine for myself to avoid the whole drag that comes with making coffee.

That was until I stumbled upon Defy’s Inox coffee maker, which was sent to me to try it and see if I will finally convert to buying a coffee machine for myself. Don’t get me wrong, I had a coffee machine which was just too complex and too time-consuming just to make my damn coffee. Sometimes simplicity does the trick.

Design- Look and feel

What really attracted me to the coffee maker was the design of it- simple, modern and still maintains that classic coffee maker design that many of us grow up with. The stainless steel finish made it easy to easily blended with the metallic feel that I have going on in my little bachelor pad.

Another special feature of the coffee maker is the LCD display with a digital clock that will ensure you enjoy your coffee without meeting those morning meetings. The coffee is not that big in size it can easily be put away in a cupboard to avoid the young ones from tangling themselves with cables.

The Defy coffee maker is easy to use, no unnecessary buttons- just four buttons and an easy to follow instruction manual. The best part about when you are using the coffee maker it’s not that loud when operating, just the aroma of fresh home brewed coffee gearing you up for a productive day.

The coffee maker also comes equipped with an anti-drip function to help you avoid a messy kitchen.

No doubt the Defy coffee maker is a stable in anyone’s kitchen, whether a big family or a simple bachelor like me. I won’t lie I am hooked and doubt I will not be making any coffee runs anytime soon.
