Actor and comedian Kevin Hart is currently in South Africa for the very first time for his world tour show What Now which broke one of the biggest records of 16 000 tickets sold. The Guide magazine was invited to the press conference yesterday, held at MultiChoice city in Randburg, Johannesburg.
Kevin Hart What Now? Tour brought to you by Savanna Premium Cider kicked off in South Africa started in Grand West Arena, Cape Town on the 26th March followed by Durban and finally tonight it’s Ticketpro Dome, Johannesburg.
Hart said that he is really out of words and humble for the love and support he got in South Africa because he was not sure of how well he would be received here in South Africa and having to break the records really showed him that he is reaching international standards because South Africa can relate to him.
With not knowing what to expect in South Africa, Hart says that he relied on the media to paint a picture of what to expect, and he found that South Africa is just like any other place he has been to, with amazing people and a lot of things to see and learn.
Hart’s expressed that his What Now show does not include an opening acts from any of the local comedians purely because of his loyalty to his brand the Hart Productions and these acts are chosen unambiguously to introduce is act not that he thinks South Africa comedy is not good enough.
He also does not allow cameras and recording devices to his shows purely because he likes his material to remain authentic as possible and when people share content in that way, it defeats the whole purpose.
Tickets to the What Now show tonight are sold out but limited tickets will be sold at the door tonight. Gates open at 6pm and the show starts at 9pm.
