South African award winning rapper K.O is set to fly the South African high at the annual ‘South by Southwest Festival’, taking place in Texas (USA) on Friday, 19 March 2016. K.O will be headlining the ‘sounds from Africa stage’.
K.O, real name Ntokozo Mdluli will be the first artist ever hailing from South Africa to headline this prestige festival, which has seen notable global artists such as Cypress Hill, Erykah Badu, Foo Fighters, Ice, Cube, J. Cole, Metallica, Patti Smith, Snoop Dog, Smokey Robinson & Willie Nelson to name a few, who have graced the stages of this iconic festival.
The “Skunda love” hit maker had these few words to say about being the first South African artist to be booked for the iconic festival: “”Being tasked with representing your country on such a huge platform is in fact a tall order, but as an artist who’s waited all his life for such a momentous opportunity I’m determined and know I will excel on that stage! This is literally a launching phase for my brand and SA Hip-hop in the US and the idea is to make an indelible mark for us to be able to solidify our presence that side”
