Savour fine wines and masterly prepared food from Grande Provence alongside fellow Franschhoek wineries, restaurants, cheese producers and chocolatiers at the first Franschhoek Food & Wine Festival, held from Friday 28, to Sunday, 30 August at Montecasino in Johannesburg.
Visitors can look forward to joining Winemaker Karl Lambour for a taste of exceptional wines, including an exclusive sneak peek of the Grand Provence Sauvignon Blanc 2015 – a perfect interlude for spring. Also sharing the spotlight will be the Grande Provence Chenin/Viognier 2014, Cabernet Sauvignon 2011 and Shiraz 2010.
Executive Chef Darren Badenhorst has prepared two signature dishes – his rolled 18-hour confit Karoo lamb neck, with truffled parsnip puree and wagyu jus, and Indonesian slow braised pork belly, with Asian kimchi and pork scratchings.
Tickets for the festival are R150 per person from www.itickets.co.za. For more information visit www.franschhoekfoodandwinefestival.co.za, Facebook or follow @FHKFoodWineFest on Twitter. Music will be provided by the Johannesburg Symphonic Orchestra.
