Experience the Magic of Wine Town Stellenbosch: July 29 – August 4
Mark your calendars for one of the South African winelands’ most anticipated events: Wine Town Stellenbosch! This annual seven-day celebration of wine and wineland living takes place from July 29 to August 4, culminating in the iconic Stellenbosch Wine Festival on August 2-3.
First held in 1973, the Stellenbosch Wine Festival will be hosted in the historic town hall, where around 60 of the country’s finest wine producers will present over 200 wines for tasting. Guests can indulge in a never-ending harvest table filled with seasonal and local delicacies, making it the perfect occasion to savor Stellenbosch and its renowned wines in all their glory.
Beyond the festival, Wine Town Stellenbosch features a variety of family-friendly activities organized by local wine farms, restaurants, tour operators, and guesthouses. Enjoy specialized wine tours, international conferences, regional tastings, winemaker lunches and dinners, and exclusive specials at wine bars and restaurants around town. Curated vertical tastings will further highlight the excellence of Stellenbosch wines across grape varieties, including focused tastings like “Cabernet Through the Ages,” hosted by the Stellenbosch Cabernet Collective, and the celebrated Chenin Blanc.
More About the Stellenbosch Wine Festival
This year’s festival will showcase some of the biggest names in South African wine, including Simonsig, Alto, Spier, Rust en Vrede, Blaauwklippen, and Kleine Zalze. Guests will also be treated to a culinary feast crafted by renowned chef Bertus Basson, featuring a harvest table, floating small plates inspired by traditional flavors, and a decadent dessert buffet.
Adding to the vibrant atmosphere, top-notch live music will keep spirits high throughout the event.
